Mumbo Islands Camp is located on a pristine, deserted area 10 kilometres off the Cape Maclear Peninsula. The camps offer barefoot luxury and tranquillity in what must be one of the most stunning locations in Africa. Both camps are tucked away on the rocks and beaches of a serene bay and the crystal-clear waters surrounding both islands are protected, making for excellent freshwater diving and snorkelling.
Lake Malawi National Park was established primarily to protect some of Lake Malawi’s very rich aquatic life, the park is particularly well known for its colourful cichlid fish population. Both islands are located within an exclusive concession area, guaranteeing privacy in a setting that is reminiscent of a tropical paradise. The camps are constructed entirely of timber, thatch and canvas, and adhere to the strictest principles of eco-architecture.
Other infrastructure is limited to a dining area, bar and watersport gazebo. A blend of exploration and leisure based activities are offered at both islands. Kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving, boat rides, scenic walks and birding are all available.
