The Crete 2 Cape Vintage Air Rally 2016.
Recreating the African aviation of the early 1920's, the Crete 2 Cape Vintage Air Rally follows in the slipstream of the early pioneers.
Departing from Sitia in Crete on the 12th November 2016 it will reach Cape Town five weeks later after crossing the whole of Africa including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and finally reaching South Africa.
At Inspiration Zimbabwe, we will host most travel and hospitality services on the ground when the Vintage Air Rally crosses both Zambia and Zimbabwe.
On the 3rd December, the Crete 2 Cape Vintage Air Rally reaches Zambia and the whole crew will be hosted for lunch at the unique Shiwa N'Gandu Manor before flying on to Mfuwe and the South Luangwa National Park.
On the 4th and 5th December, the whole Vintage Air Rally crew will be in Lusaka where a Gala Dinner will be hosted - also allowing for a day of rest for both crew and aircraft during the long journey.
The Crete 2 Cape Vintage Air Rally will reach the famous "Mosi-oa-Tunya" on the 6th of December for a two days stay allowing the Crews to explore the mighty Zambezi and the superb Victoria Falls. A Crete 2 Cape Air Show with Vintage Aircraft display will be planned on the 7th December and held at the Old Victoria Falls Airstrip directly off the main road to Kazungula.
Following, the whole party of the Crete 2 Cape Vintage Air Rally will proceed for 2 nights on the 8th and 9th December respectively to Bulawayo exploring the Matopos National Park.
From here, on the 10th December 2016, their journey will continue to Botswana and ultimately to South Africa
