The second largest city in Zimbabwe (after the capital, Harare), Bulawayo is an ideal start or end point for safaris to Matobo Hills National Park, Hwange National Park, Gonarezhou National Park, the Great Zimbabwe Ruins and Victoria Falls.

With a population of just over half a million, this metropolitan area is regarded as the business and industrial capital of Zimbabwe.

The city offers the visitor a glimpse into a bygone era through its beautiful historical architecture, unusually wide tree-lined streets and lush parks.

Most often used as a thoroughfare to other areas within the country, Bulawayo is well worth a stopover for those who have an interest in local history and culture as there are a number of excellent museums to discover and the Bulawayo Amphitheatre offers an extravagant setting for cultural performances.
