Gonarezhou National Park
This wild, untamed wilderness is in a low vld regions of Baobabs, scrublands and sandstone cliffs. Gonarezhou means "Place of Many Elephants" and the visitor will not be disappointed. The park is home to any of the largest-tusked Elephants in this part of Africa.
At 5053 km², this is Zimbabwe’s second largest game reserve after Hwange National Park. It forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a green initiative which combines three National Parks (Gonarezhou National Park, the Kruger National Park in South Africa and the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique) from different countries to create an expansive sanctuary through which the animals can roam freely.
It is situated in a rather remote corner of Masvingo Province, making it ideal for those who are looking for an authentic bush experience without the crowds!
